On June 21st, Second Fashion Week hosted a fun-filled upcycling workshop for kids in Granada. During this one-day event, children learned the basics of upcycling by transforming old clothes into new creations. Guided by experts, they discovered sewing techniques and the importance of sustainability in fashion.
The workshop not only sparked creativity but also taught valuable lessons on reducing waste and protecting the environment. It was a fantastic day of learning and creativity, leaving the young participants inspired and excited about sustainable fashion!
Last November 2022, Second Fashion Week hosted an exclusive Swedish fashion workshop at the historic Ljungskiles Trikåfabriken, a beautifully restored knitting factory. The event was led by Pernilla Toll, the costume designer for Gothenburg’s Opera, and made possible through a collaboration with Studieforbundet Vuxenskolan, Avendama, and Pernilla herself.
Participants had the opportunity to work with donated dead stock materials from Gina Tricot, learning valuable techniques and gaining insights into sustainable fashion practices.
In August 2021, Second Fashion Week held its second workshop in Falköping, Sweden, in collaboration with Arbetsmarknadcenter.
