Our Workshops and Courses

At Second Fashion Week, we empower individuals with sustainable fashion skills. Our workshops are brief, 3-hour sessions, perfect for quick, hands-on learning.

In contrast, our courses offer 20 hours of in-depth training over a week, providing a more comprehensive dive into upcycling, garment repair, and sustainable design.

Previous editions

Here, we present some examples of workshops we have conducted recently. Each workshop is designed to inspire, educate, and empower participants, providing them with practical skills and knowledge to enhance their personal style while promoting sustainability and social inclusion.

Empowering Creativity

We had a weekly upcycling workshop at the Association in favor of intellectual disability VALE .

We’ll keep working to bring the special works created by the participants into a nice collection in our next Granada/Spain edition.

This is as thrilling and cool as it looks like. We’re very happy about these collaborations. Check out @asocvale and their amazing work whenever you have the chance!

Inspiring Young Minds

On June 21st, Second Fashion Week hosted a fun-filled upcycling workshop for kids in Granada. During this one-day event, children learned the basics of upcycling by transforming old clothes into new creations. Guided by experts, they discovered sewing techniques and the importance of sustainability in fashion.

The workshop not only sparked creativity but also taught valuable lessons on reducing waste and protecting the environment. It was a fantastic day of learning and creativity, leaving the young participants inspired and excited about sustainable fashion!

Swedish Elegance

Last November 2022, Second Fashion Week hosted an exclusive Swedish fashion workshop at the historic Ljungskiles Trikåfabriken, a beautifully restored knitting factory. The event was led by Pernilla Toll, the costume designer for Gothenburg’s Opera, and made possible through a collaboration with Studieforbundet Vuxenskolan, Avendama, and Pernilla herself.

Participants had the opportunity to work with donated dead stock materials from Gina Tricot, learning valuable techniques and gaining insights into sustainable fashion practices.

Generational Unity

In August 2021, Second Fashion Week held its second workshop in Falköping, Sweden, in collaboration with Arbetsmarknadcenter.

This unique event brought together different generations, promoting circular fashion and mutual learning.

The workshop emphasized the power of women supporting women and shared wisdom across ages, fostering a community of sustainable fashion enthusiasts.
