The 2021 edition of Second Fashion Week was once again held in the charming city of Falköping from September 20 to 23.
This picturesque city, offers a unique blend of historical charm and natural landscapes, with its well-preserved architecture and lush green surroundings providing a perfect setting for showcasing sustainable fashion. Known for its historical significance and vibrant community life, Falköping’s welcoming atmosphere complemented the event’s focus on secondhand fashion and sustainability.
For the second consecutive year (Falköping Edition, Sweden 2021), the event collaborated with two key local stores. Bohaget Falköping continued its commitment to reducing environmental impact by offering a range of secondhand items, including clothing and furniture, all aimed at promoting a circular economy.
Additionally, a selection of clothing from the Red Cross was featured, emphasizing the event’s commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts through fashion.
Over the four days, creative photoshoots highlighted the beauty and stories behind the garments from these stores. Attendees enjoyed a visually engaging experience that celebrated the essence of secondhand fashion while reinforcing the values of solidarity and sustainability central to Second Fashion Week.
Special thanks to Elizabeth, Ines Niksic, Cloe, Sofi, Swetha Salgu, and Laima Selivanova for their invaluable contributions and support throughout the event. Their dedication was crucial to the success of this year’s edition, making it a memorable and impactful celebration of sustainable fashion in the heart of Falköping.
The workshops we conducted for Second Fashion Week 2021 culminated in the Second Hantverksgrupp’s collection. This collection features designs by all the participants and tutors, including Elisabeth, Helene, Kristen, Ines, Chloe, Sofia, Nelson, and Laima. The materials used in these creations were generously provided by our partners, Bohaget Falköping.
The collection received notable attention in the local press (Link Falkoping Press), with a featured article highlighting the creativity and dedication of the workshop participants.
